A PART-TIME FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER?
The position will be for **Apply on the website** hours per week on a
fixed term contract?
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To provide quality supports to
children and their families who are experiencing difficulties.?
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:?
* Third level qualification in Social Care or related field eg.
Family Support, Addiction, Community, Youth or Early Years?
* Full clean driving licence and access to a car?
* Experience of working with children and families preferably in a
support role?
* Experience of parenting work, life skills, coping strategies?
* Experience / training of working with challenging behaviour?
* Committed to working with parents and children in a way that
supports positive child development, builds parental capacity and
strengthens the child/parent bond and wellbeing?
* Common sense approach?
* Supportive, empathetic, respectful and informative?
* Understanding of poverty and related issues?
* Good communication and excellent listening skills?
* Ability to work with families from a community development ethos?
* Clear understanding of confidentiality and accountability?
* Ability to work with and support the family at their level and
pace?
